1. 智能医用材料设计及调控机理的研究：基于天然高分子的形状记忆材料设计及其在创伤愈合及止血领域的应用；
2. 生物质材料的结构修饰及利用：利用生物质材料的天然结构，将其应用于创伤愈合及组织修复。

Dr. Ruiqi Xie is currently an Associate Professor in Southwest University (SWU). Dr. Xie joined the College of Textile and Garment from SWU in 2018 as an Associate Professor. Before joining SWU, she worked at the Institute of Textiles and Clothing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU, 2020 QS Word University Rankings: No. 91) for almost six years. Her research interests mainly focus on smart biomaterial design and its applications in wound healing and hemostasis. Her work is multi-disciplinary involving biomaterials, biomimetics, nanotechnology as well as tissue regeneration.
Dr Xie is currently a qualified MSc supervisor and a member of an R&D team for advanced biomedical materials, namely the Bio-Road team. The team members welcome all interested undergraduates and postgraduates to join. Merit scholarship and subsistence allowance will be offered to both China and international postgraduate applicants who are talented in academic research.
